Bday Crop

sped was officially born today! Cue the celebratory music. One day I’d like to write more about the why—or at least the how come—of these songs. For now, with school in session and a birthday to celebrate, I’ll start with this playlist from the book, mostly from the last section, “Programs for Exceptional.”

Tune in to pcrcollective.org this Friday 5/3 and you might hear a couple of these tunes, or a couple of poems riffing on them. Sidebrow’s Kris Leja and I will be on Mutiny Radio, streaming live from Oakland Art Murmur @ 7:15 p.m. PST.

1. Boards of Canada – “In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country”
2. Portishead – “The Rip”

3. MC Solaar – “Obsolète”

4. Team Dresch – “Uncle Phranc”
5. Radiohead – “There There”

6. Palace Brothers – “You Will Miss Me When I Burn”

7. Bikini Kill – “Double Dare Ya”

8. Magnetic Fields – “Papa Was a Rodeo”

9. Lamb – “Gold”

10. 20 Minute Loop – “Book of J”
20-minute-loop chickens
11. 7 Year Bitch – “M.I.A.”

12. Bon Iver – “Re: Stacks”

13. Goldfrapp – “Pilots”
