The Institute for Food & Development Policy turned forty this year, and to mark that milestone, researcher Tanya Kerssen and I co-edited the anthology Food First: Selected Writings from 40 Years of Movement Building—with thirty-two selections from Food First’s library and a foreword by founder Frances Moore Lappé. You can finally order your copy here. The book covers a wide range of issues that intersect with food sovereignty, including agroecology, climate justice, free trade agreements, and the Green Revolution.
I recently accepted a full-time editorial position with a global nonprofit, so this was my last project for Food First. The anthology feels like the perfect capstone to my time with such a groundbreaking organization, and I’m honored to have collaborated with Tanya on it.
